Happiness is…gosh, I read a whole book on it! (Ok, at least 3 books, and a zillion articles).
Research, facts, surveys, stories, how-tos, and after all of it I wasn’t any further ahead than when I started. But I kept thinking about happiness and noticing that sometimes the people I meet, and myself, are struggling for something distant, something just out of reach, an event, or a feeling, that isn’t available in this moment.
When we look back on our life, we can see so many moments that really did feel wonderful, and yet sometimes we blitzed right through them, rushing, rushing, to get to the next one.
So seem as there are now university departments researching happiness, and people on forums arguing about who is right on this subject, I thought maybe I would write about it – maybe a best seller?
But when it came right down to it, I only had a few words to say.
Happiness is…
Being present and loving the little moments
Connecting them like little crystal beads on a thread
Taking a breath
And being content
With who you are
Right now
Right here.
