Doing, doing, doing… instead of being content with what we have

“We thought of life by analogy with a journey, a pilgrimage,
which had a serious purpose at the end,
and the thing was to get to that end,
success or whatever it is,
maybe heaven after you’re dead.
But we missed the point the whole way along.
It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played.”

I think I am beginning to understand
And if I add up all the lovely little things
that are part of my life here on this amazingingly beautiful planet,
I have a pretty wonderful feeling
about where I am at right now, right here,
and shall relax into singing and dancing
instead of doing, doing, doing…
